This Is My Story...

Monique Nicole, is a world-renowned speaker, published author, A&E TV Host, retired Interior Decorator, and the founder and creator of Employee to CEO an international Coaching Program designed to help emerging Entrepreneurs & Interior Designers create and launch a multifigure business, while working their 9-5, so they can transition into entrepreneurship in a smart, responsible, and healthy way


She has worked for some of the top 1% fastest-growing companies, including Yahoo!, Microsoft, Sony Music Europe, and Universal Music Group in the US & Internationally. 


With a Master's Degree in Interactive Marketing from New York University, a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from the European School of Economics, a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Hampton University, and a Career Diploma in Interior Decorating, Monique is widely regarded as one of the most sought after Business Coaches globally.

Monique is a member of several highly recognized organizations including, IDS (Interior Design Society), Certified Interior Decorators Network, & NAACP. 


As an ex-corporate lady, retired Interior Decorator, and now Business Coach and Marketing Consultant, her passion is in helping emerging entrepreneurs break through their fears of transitioning into entrepreneurship so they can build, launch and grow a successful multifigure business that creates the life they want and deserve.

But my journey
didn't happen overnight...
An entrepreneur was born


Graduated from New York University with a Master's Degree in Digital Marketing. Started my second business from my thesis,

(a membership based "work space" for emerging entrepreneurs).


Pitched my business to Angle Investors to secure funding, and created a board of directors with some of the top business influencers in NY.  


Got invited to be on Shark Tank.


BUT, the business never launched due to lack of funding.  This taught me how to build a business using your own funds. Build it anyway...


So that's what I did...

I wanted Autonomy + Freedom


Started my interior decorating business, while working my 9-5. 

However, my interior decorating degree didn't teach me anything about entrepreneurship or how to start a business. So I invested in Coaching, got a mentor, and learned everything I could on how to start a business.


Built my business in 12 months, and replaced my 6-figure income on my job, with my part-time business. 

Three years later (2015) I resigned from my advertising job, and went all-in with my business. 

Graduated from The European School of Economics with a Bachelors Degree in International Business with a specialization in Marketing & Economics.


Started my first multifigure business (Swan Marketing) helping music artists brand and market themselves. I was only 17 years old. The business supported me through college, including paying my $3K a month rent. 

Used my failed business,
as a lesson learned


Started working in the corporate world in marketing & advertising. Worked for Yahoo!, Microsoft, Talent Partners, and several advertising agencies for 10 years. Until I purchased my first home and found a love for interior design. Entrepreneurship started calling me again, so I answered. 

I wanted to do something more meaningful,  and purposeful. 

AND I was tired of using my gifts to help build someone else's empire. 

So I went back to school and got my Interior Decorating degree to learn the business of design. So I thought...



After running my 6-figure interior decorating business for over 5 years, I realized I wasn't the only one struggling to figure this entrepreneur thing out. I had many failures in my business, and even had to go back to corporate advertising when my business took a down turn. 

BUT, I didn't give up.


And in 2016 I launched Employee to Designer. A signature coaching program to help emerging designers/decorators build and grow a 6-figure interior design business, while working their 9-5. 



Over the next 5 years (2018 - 2023) a lot happened.

In 2018 I got married, and had the love of my life - my daughter Layla. 5  years later, I filed for divorce. 

I retired from Interior Decorating, and took some time off to refuel and refine myself, and care for my mother who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  


2022 was a great year of growth and exposure.


Filmed my first TV show, "Move or Improve" with the A&E Network. 

Became a published author in BOH Business Of Home.

Was a keynote speaker at ADAC for their "Get Down To Business" Interior Design conference. 

Was featured on Fox News Wavy TV10, and the Hampton Roads Show.



We revamped and updated The Employee to Designer course, and introduced a new course Employee to Founder

Launched my new Podcast - Employee to CEO. 

I LOVE what I do. I'm working and living life on purpose and loving that I get the opportunity to help my fellow emerging entrepreneurs create a life and business that they truly desire. 

My Goal: To be the go-to-Coach that helps emerging entrepreneurs build, grow, and scale a multifigure business, while working their 9-5, so they can create the life and business that they've hoped for.

In 2023 I had to start over after my divorce.


retired from Interior Decorating, and took some time off to refuel and refine myself, get back to what was important to me, and care for my mother who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

I believe everything in your life happens for a reason and for your good, if you allow it to. 

Take if from a girl who's been a serial entrepreneur all her life, with many starts, stops, and failures along the way.
